Guitar Scales
How You Can Learn All There Is To Know About How To Learn Guitar Scales
If you want to be a great guitarist then you simply must learn guitar scales and learning modes; they are what separate the best from the rest.
There are easy ways to learn them, and there are hard ways to learn them. On this site you will see a link at the top that say’s “guitar videos”. There you will discover all the videos you need to learn the scale or mode you want. Learning them is well worth the effort, because once you understand scales and modes, you can play anywhere on the fret board in any key, and your musical horizons really will broaden.
Since I learned I can play a variety of music scales, such as:-
- Blues guitar
- Rock guitar
- Spanish guitar
- Metal guitar
- Jazz guitar
It really is the difference between having a bit of a jam when you feel like making some noise, and actually taking your instrument seriously, making the most of it and creating something great.
Music just gets more and more exciting, and once you learn something it becomes like an addiction, you will want more and more.
How do I do it?
It really is not as difficult as you might think. Don’t be fooled by the way the pros make it appear, they don’t pull those faces because it’s particularly difficult you know.
Learning the major and minor scales as well as all the modes, and not forgetting the harmonic and melodic minor scales is easy if you are serious enough about learning and can commit wholly to your development.
I’m sure you will agree when I say fun is very important when you are starting to learn something new. I remember the first time I played and recorded one of my songs at home on my computer. I put the rhythm down and then I just started playing lead guitar using the scales I had learnt. It was like music to my ears, I was just so excited that this was coming from me who had spent some time learning scales and then putting to use with my music. I really want you budding guitarists to do the same.
Why online lessons?
Before discovering online lessons I actually considered hiring a private instructor, but my busy schedule made it so difficult. With online lessons finding time was no longer a problem because I could access them anytime day or night and the low monthly fee was more affordable than a personal instructor.
These websites made understanding scales for guitar fast and easy because I could learn at my own pace, and if I struggled with any section, all I did was rewind it and watch it again until it was mastered. Learning in the privacy of my own home gave me the freedom and confidence to play. The interactive instructors that teach you helped me feel comfortable and relaxed learning all about major scales for guitar, guitar chords and the pentatonic scale. Even things that had previously seemed so confusing, like learning modes, made sense.
Over the years I have read many books on scales and modes. In my experience, to learn how to play guitar scales successfully, as with anything, it is often much more useful to engage with the exercise practically. Books can often drown a lot of what they mean to show you in useless jargon and bad descriptions. Most of them fail to explain how one particular pattern relates to another pattern further up or down the fret board. This is very frustrating and it can make learning guitar scales more difficult than it needs to be.
Now, the great thing about the coming future, is that I am going to put some guitar videos on this site that will show you how one pattern relates to the next so you can cover the whole fret board. This is the secret to learning scales. Most tutorials do not show you this, but I am going to cover this for you with downloadable videos for each pattern. I know this is what I would want when learning scales, and I am sure you will enjoy it too.
Although the merchants or advertisers on this page will show you the scales and how to play them, they do not show how one pattern relates to the other. So, look out for my videos to be added to this site soon. So it still worth checking out these Online Video Guitar Lessons on this page and subscribing to get you started in the right direction.
I found that online guitar scale lessons was a great way to learn how to play guitar scales and improve my talent and you can do the same. You really can succeed by learning online in your own home. You can learn what you like, when you like, even if it’s at 3 O’clock in the morning. And if the website alone isn’t enough to keep you motivated, you can even buy guitar posters from another recommended site with scales and modes on them, which is a great way to easily reference things you have learned as well as keep you motivated.
I feel confident that you can get the same benefit from online lessons as I did, and your playing will improve no matter what your level of ability.
As Always . . . Good Luck!
